The Society of St. Vincent De Paul  Overview of the Society of St. Vincent De Paul The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is a Catholic lay organization inspired by Gospel values.  Its mission is to lead women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering. The St. John the Evangelist Church Conference (the common designation of the SVDP organization at the parish level) is part of a network of parish SVDP conferences in the Diocese of Columbus.  We are also part of a national network with U.S. headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, and an international network with headquarters in Paris, France where the Society was founded in April 1833 by a group of young students led by Blessed Frederic Ozanam, then 20 years of age.
