Introduction
The Constitution on
the Sacred liturgy of Vatican II dates from December 4, 1963.
Since its promulgation, our way of understanding and living
the celebrations of the Christian community has been continually
evolving. It would be an understatement to say the the principles
worked out by Vatican II have proved to be of great fecundity:
these principles do not cease to create new situations which
in turn necessitate new solutions. The important thing is not
the few steps that we have made in liturgical evolution. The
important thing is to go forward. No one knows where we shall
go -- I mean where the Spirit of Jesus, which never stops helping
his Church, will lead us!
I would like to take
up here the question of ministries in the Eucharist celebration.
